YOGA WORKSHOP
The workshop was led by Prof. (Dr.) Seema Menon K. P., an experienced yoga teacher and evaluator. Over the course of five days, participants engaged in a variety of activities, including warm-up exercises, different yogasanas, various types of pranayama, and guided meditation sessions.
Special sessions were conducted to explore the connection between yoga and mental health. These discussions highlighted how regular yoga practice helps reduce stress, improve mood, and promote emotional balance. The physical health benefits of yoga were also addressed, such as increased flexibility, improved posture, and enhanced respiratory health.
Participants were introduced to different types of pranayama, and the benefits of each — including calming the mind, increasing lung capacity, and boosting overall vitality — were clearly explained. The interactive nature of the workshop encouraged active involvement and created a supportive and positive learning environment.
The weeklong programme was well-received by the participants, who appreciated the expertise of the resource person and found the sessions both informative and rejuvenating. The workshop concluded with a feedback session, during which many participants expressed a renewed commitment to incorporating yoga into their daily routines.
