ICT WORKSHOP

 ICT WORKSHOP


    The ICT workshop conducted from 19/11/2025 to 25/11/2025 at NSS Training College, Ottapalam, for M.Ed 1st year students, was a highly enriching and transformative learning experience. The week-long workshop was led by Dr. K. Sajan, who provided in-depth guidance on the role and relevance of Information and Communication Technology in modern education. Throughout the sessions, Dr. Sajan introduced various digital tools, educational software, multimedia applications, and online platforms that can be effectively used to enhance teaching and learning. He demonstrated how ICT can make classroom instruction more interactive, engaging, and student-centred.



 The workshop also included hands-on activities, where participants prepared digital learning materials, practised creating PowerPoint presentations, explored e-content development, and learned to use online learning platforms for pedagogical purposes. The interactive discussions, practical demonstrations, and personalised support given by Dr. Sajan helped the participants gain confidence in integrating technology into their academic and professional practice. Overall, this one-week ICT workshop proved to be highly beneficial, equipping M.Ed students with essential digital skills, modern teaching competencies, and a positive attitude towards using ICT for effective educational practices.

Kerala piravi celebration

KERALA PIRAVI CELEBRATION 


The Kerala Piravi celebration at NSS Training College, Ottapalam, was held on 3 November 2025 in the college General hall  with great enthusiasm and cultural pride. The program was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr Smitha R who highlighted the historical significance of Kerala’s formation and the importance of preserving the state’s cultural heritage. B.Ed and M.Ed students actively took part in various events, including a traditional welcome song,Dance performances song elocution .


A major highlight of the celebration was the graceful Thiruvathira performance by the M.Ed students, which added charm and authenticity to the event. The auditorium was beautifully decorated with coconut leaves, flowers, and mural-style artwork, enhancing the festive atmosphere. To honour the cultural spirit of the day, all students wore Kerala sari, creating a unified and elegant appearance. The program concluded successfully with appreciation from teachers for the students’ discipline, creativity, and active participation, making the celebration memorable and meaningful for the entire college community.

The “Thought for the Day” programme organized by the M.Ed First Year students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam was held on 17th November 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the General Hall, focusing on the theme “The beauty of learning is that no one can take it away from you.” The event began with a prayer and Acharyavandanam by Bhagya and Rohina, followed by smooth compering by Shibila.A Suchithra and Rachithra presented the day’s thought effectively, highlighting the lifelong value of learning and its role in empowering individuals. Their insightful presentation encouraged students to recognize education as a priceless asset that remains with a person forever. The programme concluded with the National Anthem, marking a dignified end to an inspiring session coordinated under the guidance of Dr. M.P. Ravishanker, Teacher-in-charge, and Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R., Principal-in-charge.

yoga day

YOGA WORKSHOP

 Today we gather to celebrate International Yoga Day, a day dedicated to physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Yoga, an ancient practice from India, teaches us harmony, balance, and inner peace. In a world filled with stress, yoga gives us clarity and strength. Let us make today the beginning of a healthier lifestyle by practicing even a few minutes of yoga every day. Thank you.”


Yoga Day was observed at NSS College, Ottapalam with great enthusiasm by the M. Ed First Year students. The programme , held in the Conference Hall, began with a brief introduction on the importance of yoga in promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being. A trained instructor demonstrated simple breathing exercises and basic asanas that students could easily practice daily to reduce stress and improve concentration.



Students actively participated in the session and expressed that it was refreshing and beneficial amidst their academic schedule. The event helped create awareness about incorporating yoga into everyday life for better health and inner balance. The programme concluded with a collective meditation, marking a calm and positive end to the Yoga Day celebration.



YOGA WORKSHOP

A weeklong Yoga Workshop was conducted by NSS Training College, Ottapalam, from 10th November to 14th November 2025 for the M.Ed Batch 2025–27 at the PG Block. The programme was inaugurated by Principal-in-Charge Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, who emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life to enhance both physical and mental well-being.

The workshop was led by Prof. (Dr.) Seema Menon K. P., an experienced yoga teacher and evaluator. Over the course of five days, participants engaged in a variety of activities, including warm-up exercises, different yogasanas, various types of pranayama, and guided meditation sessions.




Special sessions were conducted to explore the connection between yoga and mental health. These discussions highlighted how regular yoga practice helps reduce stress, improve mood, and promote emotional balance. The physical health benefits of yoga were also addressed, such as increased flexibility, improved posture, and enhanced respiratory health.

Participants were introduced to different types of pranayama, and the benefits of each — including calming the mind, increasing lung capacity, and boosting overall vitality — were clearly explained. The interactive nature of the workshop encouraged active involvement and created a supportive and positive learning environment.




The weeklong programme was well-received by the participants, who appreciated the expertise of the resource person and found the sessions both informative and rejuvenating. The workshop concluded with a feedback session, during which many participants expressed a renewed commitment to incorporating yoga into their daily routines.

The M.Ed. First Year students of NSS Training College, Ottapalam organized a “Thought for the Day” programme on 13 October 2025 at 9:30 AM in the General Hall. The theme of the programme, “Every new day is another chance to change your life,” emphasized the importance of self-improvement and positive thinking. 







The event began with Prayer and Acharyavandanam led by Aleena John and Hemambika K, followed by smooth compering by Midhila M Nair. The thought was presented effectively by Anjana P and Devika K U, inspiring the audience with meaningful reflections. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

On the evening of 12th December 2024, at 3 PM, the College Auditorium of NSS Training College came alive with vibrant colors and melodies as the First-year M.Ed. department proudly presented their cultural program, Aatam. The event was a kaleidoscope of talent and enthusiasm, featuring soul-stirring group songs by Seetha and Team as well as Saranya and Team, a mesmerizing solo song performance by Seetha, and a captivating group dance by Sruthi and Team. The program celebrated the unity and creativity of budding educators.

Sreedevi’s birthday turned our classroom into a vibrant celebration filled with laughter, love, and joy. From heartfelt wishes to fun-filled moments, it was a day to cherish forever!

Skill Development Programme

 Skill Development Programme 

N.S.S Training College Ottapalam conducted a Skill Development Programme which was led by Prof.(Dr.) Shankara Narayanan Sir, with the aim of enhancing the professional competencies of educators. The programme, which spanned for three days, included various sessions focused on improving skills that are crucial for teachers to better engage and adapt to changing educational needs. This report highlights my experience and the key learnings from the programme, especially during my presentation on "Enhancing Soft Skills in Primary Teachers," which took place on the final day of the event.

   Through this event ,Various skills were improved including self confidence and presentation skills. Overall the programme significantly contributed to my personal and professional development.

 Report on Skill Development Program at N. S. S. Training College, Ottapalam


N. S. S. Training College, Ottapalam, conducted a Skill Development Program led by Prof. (Dr.) Shankara Narayanan. On the second day of the program, I had the opportunity to present a seminar on the topic "Effects of Kalaripayattu on the Psychosocial Characteristics of School Students."


Through this experience, I gained valuable insights into how to approach and analyze a research topic. I also learned the importance of structuring a presentation effectively, which helped me improve both my self-confidence and my presentation skills. Additionally, the feedback received allowed me to recognize my mistakes and work towards minimizing errors in future presentations.


Overall, the program significantly contributed to my personal and professional development, particularly in terms of research presentation and public speaking skills.

Presentation Skill Development workshop for M.Ed -1 st semester -04&05 December , 2024

Prof (Dr.) Smitha R, Principal in-charge, inaugurated the workshop. The Programme was preceded by Mrs.  Anjuprasad K, class representative (M.Ed First st year student).
Dr. Sankaranarayanan Paleri, (IQAC coordinator), explained the theme of the workshop.  The felicitation address was delivered by Manjusha. K (M. Ed student) and Vote of Thanks done by Saranya K S (M Ed student).  


 The program aimed to improve students' presentation skills while involving them in presenting a research paper or proposal to an academic audience. Each student is given 10 to 12 minutes to present a paper, following a discussion session.
The session helps to find out the drawbacks and gives an insight about our selves.

Introduction to Innovation: Kicking Off Day 1 of the ICT Workshop


 

On January 15, 2025, the ICT workshop commenced. The function was inaugurated by the Principal-in-Charge, Prof. (Dr.) Smitha Mam. The function began with a prayer. Sreedevi delivered the welcome speech. Facilitation was done by Dr. K.S. Sajan and Dr. Sunil Kumar. A.S. Najiya K. delivered the vote of thanks 


Human Rights Day Celebration

Report on Human Rights Day Celebration at NSS Training College, Ottapalam


On 10th December 2024, the Human Rights Forum of NSS Training College, Ottapalam, organized a program to observe Human Rights Day. The event commenced at 10:00 AM with a prayer and Acharya anusmaranam.


Miss Soumya delivered the welcome speech, setting the tone for the day. The Presidential Address was given by Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Kumar K, who highlighted the importance of human rights in contemporary times. The event was formally inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Smitha R, the Principal-in-Charge.


Dr. K. S. Sajan and Dr. Lekshmi V extended their felicitations, emphasizing the value of education in promoting human rights. A thought-provoking theme presentation was delivered by Manju K and Gayathri, followed by the screening of a short film to further engage the audience.


The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Sreeja P, after which participants contributed to a Human Rights Tree by adding their palm impressions on a chart, symbolizing unity and commitment to human rights.


The event was well-coordinated under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Kumar K, reflecting the college's dedication to fostering awareness about human rights among its academic community.

Constitution Day

 Nss Training College observed Indian Constitution Day on 26th November. In India, we celebrate November 26th as Samvidhan Divas , the day we adopted our Constitution and its values. Keeping in line with the tradition, the observation day was aptly named Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Swabhiman. 

This day was entirely dedicated to the celebration of the core values of our Constitution. One key objective was educating the youth on the significance of democratic values, duties and the rights we enjoy. Apart from raising constitutional literacy, this day also provides an opportunity to celebrate our shared identity as the people of one nation where each and every citizen is equal before the law.

 The program began with the reading of the preamble by Dr. Smitha R (Principal in charge). This was followed by a detailed tribute to the Constitution Day by second year M. Ed students. The title of the tribute was "Wings of Liberty". This was followed by the theme Presentation. The theme presentation was done by Ranjitha S and Renuka N of the first year M. Ed batch. Overall,the program serves a critical role in reinforcing the significance of our Constitution in everyday life of people.
